Santander has been recognized as one of the 50 companies making a positive impact in the world by being included in Fortune Magazine’s ‘Change the World’ list for the third year in a row. The list acknowledges companies that have a positive social impact through activities that are part of their core business strategy.
Santander has been included in the list because of its support for education, entrepreneurship and employability through global initiatives like Santander Open Academy platform. In 2024 alone the bank invested €103.8 million and supported more than 2.2 million people and businesses. Over the past nearly 30 years, the bank has been a pioneering supporter of education, employability and entrepreneurship, standing out among the world’s financial institutions. Santander has deployed over €2.4 billion to support these areas through partnerships with nearly 1,100 universities.
