Buddha Purnima Bank Holiday 2024:
The Reserve Bank of India’s annual calendar designates Buddha Purnima, on Thursday, May 23, as a holiday, resulting in bank closures in many states. In some states, banks will be closed for four consecutive days this week: Buddha Purnima on Thursday, Nazrul Jayanti on Friday, followed by the regular weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday. However, individuals can still use digital banking services on their phones or computers.
On May 25, 2024, banks will also be closed in Tripura and Orissa for Nazrul Jayanti and the Lok Sabha General Elections (fourth Saturday).
